Junior Cycle
In Junior Cycle our students experience a wide variety of subjects and sit the Junior Cycle Examination which takes place at the end of third year. The updated Junior Cycle Framework contains 24 statements of learning, underpinned by the eight principles, provide the basis for schools to plan for, design and evaluate their junior cycle programmes. That process of planning focuses on the combination of curriculum components (subjects, PLU’s, and short courses) and other learning experiences. Schools will ensure that all statements of learning, alongside the key skills feature in the programmes of all junior cycle students.
Subjects for examination are available at Higher level, Ordinary level, and Common level where relevant. The new Junior Cycle Programme is under way in all subjects.

Liberal Studies: Music, CSPE, PE, Art Craft & Design, Religious Education
Business Studies: Business Studies, Computer Studies- Coding module
Practical: Materials Technology (Wood), Metalwork (Materials & Technology), Technical Graphics
Students select their subjects prior to commencing in August of 1st Year. First year students choose 2 option subjects in addition to the compulsory subjects for Junior Cycle.
